“Indulging Hearts” | Sydney Poet David Landgrebe

09 Sep

Remember our first kiss?
I longed to steal those lips that lingered so close;
Our jellied hearts, entangled, in the warm shallows,
Unchaste lovers notes, parading like paper chains.
Your eyes transparent, with the clarity of an alpine stream,
Where salmon shine like emperors,
And bears begin to dream.
Blue stars flicker, through the crowded leaves
Above your smiling face, with solar glow;
With amber stores what treasures show.
