“Silver Dream Catcher” | Sydney Poet David Landgrebe

18 Mar

I could stay forever by the sea,
catching images
with my silver dream catcher,
stealing images of seagulls on the sand,
thawing their meatless sea legs, tucked up under, in a sunny corner,
bleaching their white wings, smooth as icing.

Silver dream catcher,
can catch the unforgiving waves,
Expunging foam into the air,
where a cliff face stands as still as stone,
and crumbles’ with despair.

Silver dream catcher,
Caught the painter of this landscape,
in its gutsy gesso skin,
her cerulean blues,
with yellow ochre’
and eucalyptus hues.

My silver dream catcher,
the brush of my Picassos,
painting memories,
of guiltless picnics,
strewn along the sun drenched esplanade.

I have not posted a poem on my blog for a while now, but your lovely comment might get me back in there.

Absolutely Beautiful! So much to treasure, I loved “Expunging foam into the air,
where a cliff face stands as still as stone, and crumbles’ with despair.” Great poetry. Wish all the best to you, Linda

Thank you for sharing your genius in this way. The poetry is exquisite. (You could inspire a whole new line of cameras with the name Dream Catchers.) Your imagery is high resolution. Love it!
